When Hermann Waldner in 1908 opened a bottler in Wangen im Allgäu, hardly anyone suspected that one day it would become one of the largest enterprises in the region with 1000 employees worldwide, two domestic and seven foreign subsidiaries as well as a worldwide distribution network. The path to this point led over a typical product of the Allgäu – Milk.
Even in the 1930s, Waldner products were recognized in the German milk and cheese industry. This development continued with breathtaking speed after the war with a variety of innovative milk and food processing machines and systems. By coming up with innovative business ideas, Anton Waldner resourcefully supported his father in this effort. Thus, in 1950 for example, Waldner delivered the first laboratory table to the local dairy school which in the end became the moment laboratory production was born.
Today, the WALDNER company group companies that fall under the roof of the WALDNER Holding GmbH & Co.KG are: Hermann WALDNER GmbH & Co. KG; WALDNER Laboreinrichtungen GmbH & Co. KG; and WALDNER Labor- und Schuleinrichtungen GmbH.
This enterprise in Wangen supplies its products to customers worldwide. Thus, for example, in a laboratory installed by Waldner, Novartis in Singapore is researching new agents to fight tropical disease. At the same time, DOSOMAT packaging machines made in Wangen fill portioned cans of coffee on 48 different lines for Kraft Foods worldwide operations and students in Shanghai are studying chemical reactions in a chemistry hall equipped by Waldner.
In September of this year Waldner will celebrate the anniversary with several events. The day for the open house is for example already set for September 20.
